Football over Friendship

Authors Note: For many people around the world football is more than just a sport it is a huge impact on their everyday lives.

Football is the best sport ever and nobody can tell me otherwise. The excitement
of the game and the rush of playing is just amazing. Our story is about two 6^th grade boys who are best friends and they both like to play football. One of the boys name is Manny and the other friend’s name is Donald.  Manny is the star running back on the team and Donald he’s just on defense so he isn’t really noticed because he doesn’t do a lot and he doesn’t get much playing time. Manny on the other hand he takes a 2min break on the bench then goes right back out every single game.

In a way Donald is jealous of Manny because he is a little bit more talented at football than him. I can understand where he’s coming from because I know what it feels like for someone to be better than you at something and they are your best friend. But Donald made a bad choice of ignoring Manny and never explaining to Manny why he was mad at him so Manny is clue less on why Donald is furious with him. But at least Donald can talk it out with Manny in a calm and mature manner.

But too bad it didn’t happen that way. Just to get even farther away from Manny Donald quit the football team and without Donald, Manny suffered on the field. He was the worst player on the field. The worst part for Donald was finding a new friend which was harder than he thought because it seemed like everyone had their own group of friends and Donald didn’t seem to fit in anywhere. Somehow without each other they carried on with their miserable and separate lives.

For many people and athletes all around the world football is very important because they might have stress or anger to depose of. For for players, parents,  and legends of the game that may have a passion for the game. Football was, is and always will be the best sport ever, but a game is not worth losing your best friend.
